BMI (Body Mass Index)
A measure of body fat based on weight and height.
Definition
BMI is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters. It provides an estimate of body fat and is used to categorize underweight, healthy weight, overweight, and obesity.
Example
A person weighing 70kg and 1.75m tall has a BMI of 22.86, considered normal weight.
Calculation
BMI=weight(kg)÷height2(m²)
Example: If weight = 70 kg and height = 1.75 m, then:
BMI = 70 ÷ (1.75²)
BMI ≈ 22.9 (Normal range)
BMI = 70 ÷ (1.75²)
BMI ≈ 22.9 (Normal range)
