Celsius (°C)

A temperature scale where 0° is freezing water and 100° is boiling.

Definition

The Celsius scale is a metric temperature scale based on the freezing and boiling points of water. 0°C represents freezing, and 100°C represents boiling under standard pressure.

Example

Room temperature is typically around 20–22°C.

Calculation

°F=°C×9÷5 + 32
Example: Room temperature of 20–22°C equals approximately 68–72°F.
