Logarithm

The exponent to which a base must be raised to get a number.

Definition

A logarithm answers the question: 'To what power must the base be raised, to produce a number x?' It is the inverse of exponentiation.

Example

log2(8) = 3 because 2^3 = 8

Calculation

Example:log28 = ?
Since =8,
log₂ 8 =3
